Podcast App
The Podcast app is designed to make life easier for podcasters. Assignable Sound Pad buttons allow you to easily call up sound effects, background music, and more. Choose from 13 high-quality built-in sounds or load your own from an SD card.
Music App
The Music app gives you quick control over the most important features: sound levels, faders, metering, and more. With 10 inputs and 12 tracks at your disposal, you can easily record performances of even large ensembles. Mix, layer audio on top of what's already recorded, and refine your recordings with the equalizer and compressor. Connect to the Zoom Guitar Lab library via USB for access to a wide range of amp and effects models.
Field App
The Field app is perfect for recording sound in field conditions, sound design, conducting conferences, and more. It provides instant access to enlarged level meters for each track, ensuring your recordings won't clip. You can also set input type, enable high-pass filter, compression, limiter, noise gate, and other important functions.
Microphone Capsules
The H8 includes the Zoom XYH-6 microphone capsule. It features two high-quality bidirectional microphones designed to capture sound directly in front of the recorder. With the convenient interchangeable Zoom microphone capsule system, you can easily swap and install them quickly, ensuring you always use the right microphone for the task.
Remote Control
You can monitor levels and send commands for REC, PLAY, and STOP buttons in any H8 mode directly from your iOS device. Simply connect the wireless Bluetooth adapter BTA-1 to the H8 and pair it with your iOS device.

Inputs and Outputs
The H8 offers four XLR outputs with dedicated PAD switches and gain control knobs. Two additional combination XLR/TRS jacks with Hi-Z switches allow you to capture line-level signals, microphone, or directly record sound from an electric or bass guitar.
For monitoring, there is a 3.5mm headphone output, as well as a dedicated stereo line output for direct connection to a camera.
Multichannel Audio Interface
Additionally, the new Zoom H8 is a powerful USB audio interface. Connect via USB to your PC, Mac, iPad, or tablet and get up to 12 channels of simultaneous recording.

Advanced Audio Processing Features
The Zoom H8 comes with a free license for Steinberg Cubase LE and WaveLab Cast software, allowing you to not only record high-quality audio but also have extensive capabilities to process, edit, and mix your projects.
Podcasting
WaveLab Cast allows you to connect directly to podcast directories like Spreaker or Podbean. Quickly upload your podcasts and create and publish RSS feeds directly.
Sound for Video
Upload your video files, and WaveLab Cast will automatically extract the audio. You can use editing tools to remove unwanted noise, adjust levels, and remove loud sibilants. Measurement options allow you to create new tracks, add your music, apply equalization and compression. Replace the audio track of your video file using WaveLab Cast export functions.
Field Recording
WaveLab Cast supports sound quality up to 96 kHz and includes an advanced resampler. RestoreRig will remove noise and unwanted sounds. You can create new files using Snap functions and Crossfade settings. Once you've completed your project, you can export your audio files in any popular audio format.
