    Description

Yamaha NS-SW200 - The design of this subwoofer model is a combination of convenience and appeal. It utilizes the new Twisted Flare Port technology for clean and resilient bass. This subwoofer will work in concert with many speakers and blend seamlessly into any interior.

    Key Features:

    • High-efficiency Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) digital amplifier and dual feedback circuitry
    • New Twisted Flare Port for clean and resilient bass
    • Advanced YST II (Yamaha Active Servo Technology II) system
    • 20cm woofer
    • Attractive subwoofer that will work in concert with many speakers and blend seamlessly into any decor
    • Convenient front control panel
    • System control and automatic standby mode switching

The Yamaha NS-SW200 is a subwoofer with a phase-inverter port made with the new “Twisted Flare Port” technology. The model has also received a number of Yamaha's proprietary technologies to be as competitive as possible in its price category.

The Twisted Port is the same as the phase inverter, but with recesses along the long side of the tube, twisted slightly in a spiral. When moving quickly, the airflow leaving the port is screwed into the stationary air, preventing spontaneous turbulence from forming. Accordingly, the resistance to air movement is reduced and the sound becomes fast, powerful and accurate. The “twist” is used on both sides of the phase-inverter port, which enhances the positive effect.

A digital amplifier (class D) with double feedback is used to amplify the signal. The advantages of digital amplification are well known - compactness, efficiency, low heat dissipation. However, traditional digital amplifiers also have weaknesses - relatively high distortion. But it is precisely to reduce distortion that the double negative feedback in the amplification circuit of these units is designed.

The use of Yamaha Active Servo Technology II (YST II) is designed to cancel out another source of distortion - the varying impedance of the driver itself. A special electrical circuit dynamically creates a negative impedance to equalize the load on the amplifier and make the resulting cone movement as linear as possible. The second version of this technology allows the cone movement to be controlled more rigidly and clearly. The driver's voice coil is wound with square wire, which, for the same amount of winding volume, results in a power gain over traditional round wire.

For convenient operation of the device, the power button, volume control and power indicator are placed on the beveled rib between the front and top walls of the case. The device can be automatically turned on and automatically turned off when an input signal is present. The standby mode is very economical - only 0.3 W.
