The SV-500 MK presents itself in a timeless design and with the typical Vincent sound character. The addition of “MK” in the name makes it clear that there were no fundamental changings made compared to the previous model, true to the motto “Never change a running system!” However, customer needs require further technical developments. That‘s why we have revised the connection section of the SV-500 MK.
In addition to two analog inputs, an optical and coaxial input, Bluetooth and an HDMI connection (ARC) are now also available. Two 6N1 tubes and one 12AX7 tube work in the input stage, which process the sound of the music signal. They give the sound the naturalness and warmth that Vincent is used to. The final amplification in the output stage is then made by transistors from Toshiba.
A 110 watt toroidal transformer works in the power supply. Capacitors with 20,000 yF are then available for grading the current signal and as a buffer. Of course, a high-quality aluminum remote control is included in the scope of delivery, which rounds off the elegant appearance.
“As much as the technology and sonics continue to lead the category, Vincent Audio saw there was room for an upgrade by way of expanding compatibility with an exponentially wider array of sources, which led Vincent Audio to the addition of HDMI and Bluetooth connectivity.”
At the heart of the SV-500 MK is a Vincent Audio-exclusive circuit that features three user-replaceable vacuum tubes. The tubes are biased for longer life, conservatively estimated to be 10 years.
In addition to making analog sources sound their best, the SV-500 MK is up-to-date with a DAC that handles the latest high-resolution streaming formats, including WAV, FLAC, AIFF, APE, and more. A robust power supply maintains a current flow that is clean and free of noise.
Adds Mr. Niemi: “As one of our most popular hybrid integrated amplifiers to date, the SV-500 set a high bar in sonic output and usability that stands out from competitors in its price class. The new SV-500 MK builds on the latter, while maintaining the integrity of the former.”
