Telefunken TF51 is a condenser microphone with "Austrian sound", continuing the models ELA M 251E and C12. The TF51 delivers a smooth midrange and airy top end, making it an excellent choice for recording vocals, acoustics, and percussion.

Like the TF 47, the TF51 is quite neutral in the range from 20 Hz to 200 Hz but has a slightly more richness in sound. Its mid-frequency response gently decreases by less than 1 dB, then shows a 1 dB increase at 3 kHz, which drops back to zero at 6.5 kHz, followed by a peak of 2.5 dB at 10 kHz.
