This microphone belongs to the versatile series: Telefunken M81 can be used for both drums and vocals. Telefunken M81 is a microphone that delivers a rich, clear sound, capable of taming powerful vocals or overly sharp guitar tones. It is perfect for miking percussion, wind instruments, and other high-frequency sound sources.
Features:
- Polar pattern: supercardioid;
- Sound pressure level: 135 dB;
- Wide dynamic range;
- Ultra-durable capsule;
- Reduces proximity effect;
- Enhanced directionality;
- Specifically designed for guitars, drums, and wind instruments;
- Transformer with individual winding.
Based on the strengths of the M80 model, the Telefunken M81 microphone retains the minimal "proximity effect," excellent feedback rejection, and clarity in mid-frequencies. However, on the M81 model, the upper end of the frequency response is slightly attenuated, resulting in a flatter overall frequency characteristic. This combination creates a rich and clear sound, making the microphone an excellent tool for taming bright vocals and guitar tones, as well as for deep reproduction of percussion, wind instruments, and other high-frequency sources.
Thanks to its unconventional frequency response, the Telefunken M81 microphone is especially suitable for electric guitars, percussion, mounted and floor toms, as well as brass wind instruments. Its wide range of applications and high reliability make this microphone a great workhorse for a new generation of musicians and sound engineers.
The M81 was developed with inspiration from the Telefunken R-F-T AR-51 condenser microphone. The M81 features the same gray housing and triple chrome head grille as the AR-51. Special attention was paid to tuning the overall characteristic to complement the AR-51 model when recording electric guitars.
The Telefunken M81 microphone was designed for use... well, for use everywhere and always! It is truly a versatile dynamic microphone.
