The Telefunken M60 is a small-diaphragm condenser microphone with a cardioid FET transistor, designed to provide quick response to transient processes and accurate reproduction of musical frequencies for musicians and sound engineers in home, project, and commercial studios.
The maximum sound pressure level of the M60 reaches 130 dB, and its low self-noise level and fast transient response make it ideal for capturing a wide range of instruments and room environments. The included shock mount protects the microphone from vibrations that would otherwise be transmitted through the microphone stand.
Detailed frequency response:
The microphone consists of the M60 amplifier paired with the cardioid TK60 capsule, equipped with a 15 mm diameter 6-micron gold-sputtered membrane. It provides incredibly rich low frequencies and fast and accurate transient response. The frequency response is flat from 150 Hz to 7 kHz with a smooth, airy peak at 8 kHz, making it ideal for use with drums, hi-hats and rides, piano, acoustic guitar, and other acoustic instruments.

Circuitry:
Using a patented circuit topology, this new interpretation of the classic field-effect transistor microphone amplifier provides exceptional transient response characteristics and SPL control capabilities. Carefully selected and tested components are hand-inserted into gold-plated circuit boards, providing an ultra-clean Class A discrete amplifier with a frequency response of ±2 dB in the range of 20 Hz to 50 kHz.
The output signal is matched with a custom-made American transformer, ensuring a particularly low self-noise level and a typical total harmonic distortion plus noise (THD+N) level of 0.015% or higher, making it ideal for critical recording applications.
Construction:
The M60 housing is covered with a durable black powder coat with a light texture, adorned with the iconic TELEFUNKEN diamond badge. The XLR microphone connector housing is complemented by a matte black nickel-plated finish, engraved with the model and serial number. The TK60 capsule has a bright nickel-plated body with a fine gold mesh pattern.
