The ELA M 260 has a rich, saturated tone with excellent detail and clarity. It captures sources with natural presence, making it a fantastic tool for recording acoustic instruments of all types. Violin, cello, double bass, drum overheads, percussion, woodwind instruments, saxophones, strings, especially acoustic guitar - the ELA M 260 will convey all nuances beautifully. Despite its size, it also excels in vocal recording. Its unique tonal character is well-suited for a variety of traditional or non-traditional recording options.
The ELA M 260 features a new circuit, based on a New Old Stock (NOS) EF732 / 5840W tube and a custom-made T60 output transformer from TELEFUNKEN in the USA. This combination results in a small-diaphragm microphone that, while unique, still possesses all the best qualities of vintage microphones it is based on.
All ELA M 260 microphones come with a set of three interchangeable capsules: cardioid TK60, omnidirectional TK61, and hypercardioid TK62. This provides maximum flexibility for different recording scenarios. The set also includes the M 960 power supply, a 7.62m Accusound TX-7 microphone cable with double shielding, an elastic shock mount M761, and a wooden box.
