The XE200 is equipped with a line array diffuser that helps the music travel further, even to the sides of the speaker. Additionally, thanks to its compact size and convenient strap, it's easy to take it anywhere you go. Sony was inspired by professional concert audio systems to develop a unique linear diffuser that creates a linear source, distributing sound energy more evenly in a wide space to better fill the room with sound. This allows the sound to spread forward and sideways without losing quality.

Linear diffuser features
Thanks to the linear diffuser, the sound in front of and on the sides of the speaker spreads further, ensuring consistent sound quality. This means that everyone in the room can dance to the same music with the same quality. Unlike regular speakers that concentrate most of the energy at the center of the cone, Sony's unique linear diffuser directs the sound through a narrow diaphragm. As a result of increased acoustic pressure, the sound is evenly distributed in every direction from the speaker – forward and sideways.
X-Balanced Speaker Unit feature
Unlike regular speakers with a round diaphragm, the XE200's X-Balanced Speaker Unit has a non-round diaphragm that provides greater acoustic pressure for high-quality sound. The non-round shape of the speaker increases the diaphragm area for a more rich bass sound, while reducing diaphragm vibrations and preserving acoustic pressure to minimize sound distortion.

16-hour battery life and noise recognition
When fully charged, the XE200 speaker provides 16 hours of playback, so one charge is enough for any party. If you're short on time, don't worry. Just 10 minutes of charging will give you 70 minutes of playback. The Battery Care feature helps avoid excessive charging and maintains the battery in optimal condition.
And Sony's unique technology for recognizing ambient noise using a microphone saves battery power when not indoors. Voices sound better thanks to echo cancellation. So two people can speak simultaneously without interrupting each other. In addition, you can instantly mute the sound with the convenient microphone mute button on the speaker. Multipoint connection allows simultaneous pairing with two devices.

With Party Connect, you can connect up to 100 compatible wireless speakers using Bluetooth technology to sync music on all of them. And with Stereo Pair, you can connect two speakers wirelessly for incredible stereo sound.
