Sonus Faber Omnia EISA All-In-One Loudspeakers 2022-2023 Award Winner

Sonus Faber Omnia has been awarded the EISA All-In-One Loudspeakers 2022-2023 prize. EISA is a European organization that brings together 50 specialized audio and video publications from 19 European countries. Every year, the prestigious EISA Awards are given to the best audio/video technology products based on independent expert evaluations by participating members in different categories.

Features:

  • 4-way DSP-optimized closed-box system
  • Inputs: HDMI Arc, analog input: MM Phono/Line-In
  • Nominal power of 490W
  • Ethernet connection (10/100 Mbps); Dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (2.4 GHz and 5.2 GHz)
  • Frequency response: From 30 Hz to 25 KHz (-6 dB)

Italian audio engineers from Sonus Faber have introduced the wireless premium class audio system Omnia. The design of this new product will especially appeal to those tired of simple rectangular soundbars. The top panel of the wide and deep housing with a natural wood texture is entirely devoted to a touch interface called Senso. This is both a decorative device indicator and a system for controlling all its functions.

For source selection, there are several options for digital and analog connections, including vinyl - with a built-in MM phono stage. HDMI with ARC is provided for TV connection, and Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, and Chromecast for smartphones. The device can be connected to the network via Ethernet (10/100 Mbps) or Dual-band Wi-Fi. Remote control is possible with a small remote control, smartphone, or tablet.

A part of the magic of the sound comes from the Crescendo technology from Sonus Faber, a patented signal processing system that uses a combination of in-phase bipolar and out-of-phase dipole dispersion to add more spatial dimension to the music. This dimension is further enhanced by the use of two 1.75-inch neodymium drivers with an extended range, one at each end of the housing, which gives the musical sound a noticeable atmosphere and scale.

At the front of the Sonus Faber Omnia housing are two 3-inch midrange drivers with cellulose diaphragms - the workhorses - with a 0.75-inch silk dome and neodymium driver on each side to raise frequencies up to 25 kHz. A single 6.5-inch low-frequency driver with an aluminum diaphragm is directed downwards into an open port, softly illuminating the elliptical base of the device. The total power of all seven drivers is 490W. Together, this allows Omnia to cover a frequency range from 30 Hz to 25 kHz.

Although Sonus Faber Omnia is wireless, users have the option of wired connectivity. On the back panel of the device, there is a connection to the local network, as well as an HDMI ARC input that connects Omnia to the TV. It is important to note that the included MiniDin-RCA cable is suitable for sources such as CD players and record players (the latter equipped with an MM cartridge), thanks to the switch on the back panel that connects Omnia's phono stage to the signal path. This flexibility truly makes Omnia a versatile solution for vinyl collectors who want to add a beautiful turntable to their system.
