V BEAT Dynamic Microphone for Drums
The V BEAT is the most compact dynamic microphone for drums in its class, designed to effortlessly capture the sound of any small drums and toms. Unlike the V7, which is optimized for vocals, the V BEAT offers the same high-quality sound as the instrumental V7 X but in a low-profile "drum-friendly" form factor. Its tuned frequency response can also be used with sources like guitar amps or brass instruments.
Its specialized capsule provides highly detailed, extremely natural sound for drums of any size, with excellent off-axis rejection to prevent sound from neighboring drums and cymbals.
The ultra-compact low-profile design and parallel XLR connector minimize space taken up, while the reliable swivel mount allows for precise adjustment to achieve the desired sound angle. This minimizes the space the V BEAT mic occupies, keeping all cables out of sight and eliminating the need for angle adapters or specialized cables that can interfere with a drummer's performance.
At the heart of the V BEAT is the DMC7 X capsule. This newly handcrafted capsule offers the same technologies and features as its counterpart in the V7 microphone, including the innovative specialized aluminum voice coil. However, while the V7 is optimized for vocals, the capsule in the V BEAT is specifically tuned for instrumental use. The aluminum voice coil provides open and rich low frequencies transitioning smoothly for outstanding performance, and the midrange is balanced to support the natural resonance of drums.
The superior off-axis rejection of this complex capsule also helps isolate your drums from other sound sources on stage, effectively preventing sound bleed from other drums, cymbals, etc. The supercardioid polar pattern helps compensate for excessive bass (proximity effect) when the microphone head is positioned close. Tested neodymium magnets, stringent manufacturing tolerances, and overall high build quality ensure excellent sensitivity, high-quality sound, and superb consistency.
The enhanced internal capsule suspension effectively protects it from mechanical vibrations, isolating it from impacts and bumps, eliminating the need for external shock mounts.
The V BEAT body is entirely metal, with no plastic parts in its construction. The chassis features high-quality, durable zinc alloy casting. This ensures the microphone can withstand aggressive environments (on stage and on the road) for many years, aided by the corrosion-resistant steel grille. The swivel mount provides secure microphone fixation in any position, and the gold-plated XLR connector ensures reliable signal connection for years to come.
The red internal windscreen effectively reduces unwanted explosive sounds and wind noise. Additionally, a visually sleek black windscreen is included as a standard accessory in case you prefer it.
Some popular drum microphone mounting systems (e.g., LP Mic Claw) include a lock nut for secure microphone fixation. However, nuts from third-party manufacturers may partially block access to the XLR connector on the V BEAT microphone due to its extremely compact design. To address this issue, the V BEAT kit includes a lock nut with a smaller outer diameter, solving this problem for you.
