Enjoy the versatility and classic vintage sound of a true studio workhorse with the sE4400 from sE Electronics, a large-diaphragm condenser mic with a handcrafted capsule and four switchable patterns: cardioid, omni, figure-8, and hypercardioid. Along with a -10 or -20 dB input pad, the sE4400 can handle up to an impressive 157 dB.
The high SPL handling and flexible pattern selection allow the sE4400 to handle a variety of sources, from pianos, orchestras, and choirs to electric guitar cabs, drums, and vocals. The sE4400 also includes a switchable 40 or 80 Hz low-cut filter for eliminating low-frequency rumble. The durable all-metal housing and switches can survive years of studio and touring abuse. The sE4400 includes an innovative close-miking shockmount, a thread adapter, and a metal case.
Handcrafted Condenser Capsule
The sE4400 features a handcrafted 1" gold-sputtered condenser capsule with a gold-sputtered Mylar diaphragm. The capsule sports a low noise level, a wide frequency range, and a high max SPL of 137 dB (without the pad engaged), allowing it capture a vast array of sound sources with ease.
Polar Pattern Selection
The two switches on the right side of the microphone control its polar pattern. Use cardioid to capture typical single-point sound sources like vocals, guitar, drum overheads (when using two mics), and horns. Use figure-8 / bidirectional for M/S capture of guitar cabs, certain vocal types, and duets. Use hypercardioid for an ultra-tight pickup, ideal for snare drum or picking up specific performers in an ensemble. And with omni, you can record room sound, reflections, and large ensembles in sizable acoustica spaces, like orchestras and choirs.
Rugged and Dependable Workhorse
Handcrafted with a high attention to detail, the sE4400 is built with a roadworthy die-cast all-metal housing, metal switches, and rugged spring steel wire mesh grille that can take a beating during day-to-day tour life. The sE4400 appeals with its down-to-earth elegance, offering discrete electronics prioritizing the features you really need.
