The RODE VideoMic PRO Rycote is a professional on-camera shotgun microphone designed for DSLR cameras and portable HD camcorders. This model significantly improves audio quality compared to the built-in camera microphone, reduces background noise, and effectively captures sound for vlogs, journalism, and documentaries in almost any conditions. The microphone also features an active JFET buffer circuitry, which efficiently amplifies the signal and minimizes the impact of the camera's built-in amplifier, typically using cheap and low-quality components.
The device is equipped with a 1/2" condenser capsule with supercardioid polar pattern. The frequency range extends from 40 Hz to 20 kHz. There is also a 3-position switch with -10, 0, and +20 dB settings for adjusting the output level. The maximum sound pressure level can reach up to 134 dB, allowing it to work even in loud background music or noise.
