The model is equipped with high-quality 24-bit ADC/DAC converters operating at a 48 kHz sampling rate, as well as Class A microphone preamps, resulting in superior studio-quality results. The frequency range of the system extends from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The device features a clear and user-friendly interface with several convenient functions that simplify and speed up operations, and the backlighting of all controls allows for comfortable operation even in complete darkness.
There are four balanced XLR inputs with +48 Volt phantom power for connecting microphones, ideal for condenser models. The microphone signal can be amplified from 0 to 55 dB, with an input impedance of 600 ohms. For audio output, there is a stereo balanced output on two 1/4'' Jack TRS connectors, as well as four headphone outputs on the same connectors. The first headphone output is also duplicated by a 1/8'' Jack TS connector. Any headphones with an impedance of up to 300 ohms can be used. A mobile phone can be connected to the audio interface via a 1/8'' Jack TRRS connector or Bluetooth. The device allows for both types of connections simultaneously, allowing for the connection of two smartphones. This enables playing music and conducting interviews via mobile communication. Finally, there are eight pads for triggering various sound effects, samples, or jingles.
Most functions are controlled via the touchscreen LCD display. The front panel features eight faders, each with a Solo button, and faders 1-7 also have a Mute option. These can be used to flexibly mix signals coming from microphone inputs, Bluetooth, USB, and mobile devices. Recording can be done on a computer, connected via a USB-C port, or on an SD card up to 512 GB in size. The device is compatible with Windows 10 and macOS 10.11 operating systems. The output channel volume can also be individually adjusted. Saturators for low and high frequencies (Aphex Big Bottom and Aural Exciter), dynamic compression effects, de-esser, limiter, filter, and noise gate are available for tone correction and enhancement. Pre-set configurations are included for microphones like PodMic, Procaster, Broadcaster, NT1, NT1-A, NT2-A, as well as for standard condenser and dynamic microphones. Power is supplied by a 15 V DC adapter. For pad programming and software updates, the Caster Pro App is available for free download from the manufacturer's website.
