The OctaMic II eight-channel preamp and analog-to-digital converter is a replacement for the OctaMic model, featuring a built-in ADC, no phantom power on the balanced TRS input of the combo connector, support for input levels up to +21 dB, improved signal-to-noise ratio and harmonic distortion levels, the ability to select sync source (internal generator, AES, or Word Clock), and a built-in power supply. Additionally, the larger and modernized enclosure allows for better cooling.
Each channel includes a balanced microphone/line input (XLR/TRS combo connector), sensitivity control, phantom power button and LED indicator (+48V), signal and overload LEDs, polarity and low-cut filter buttons (80 Hz, 18 dB/oct), and a balanced line output (TRS).
The device features two ADAT optical digital outputs (supporting sampling rates up to 96 kHz using S/MUX technology), four digital electrical stereo outputs, and a stereo AES/EBU input (compatible with SPDIF, supporting sampling rates up to 192 kHz, on a 25-pin D-Sub connector, input used for synchronization only), Word Clock input (BNC), output signal level buttons and LEDs (-10 dBV, +4 dB, or +19 dB, switching simultaneously for all outputs), Clip Hold mode button (flashing indicator in case of overload) with LED indicator, DIP-switch block, power switch, and power cable socket. The analog-to-digital converters support sampling rates up to 192 kHz, with a resolution up to 24 bits. Analog and digital outputs work simultaneously. SteadyClock jitter suppression technology is employed.
