The RME M-1620 Pro D is a 16-channel ADC/20-channel DAC converter with support for Dante (64 channels), MADI, and ADAT interfaces, adjustable levels up to +24dBu, dual redundant network ports, SteadyClock FS technology, and 2 headphone outputs. Housed in a compact 1U chassis, it offers stand-alone operation and flexible routing.
The innovative M-1620 Pro D by RME is a versatile solution for converting 16 analog line signals (with adjustable levels up to +24 dBu per channel) into MADI, ADAT, and Dante digital streams, and vice versa. The compact 1U chassis combines advanced ADC/DAC, 2 independent headphone outputs, LED level indicators, and an informative display for full signal control.
The device features a built-in redundancy system with dual network and MADI connections, as well as monitoring of DC input in addition to the main AC power. The Stand-Alone function allows for direct adjustment of all parameters from the front panel or loading user presets.
M-1620 Pro D supports up to 64 Dante channels, providing easy integration into IP networks via standard Ethernet switches. If needed, the device can act as a standalone switch, chaining multiple Dante devices together. Compatibility with Dante Virtual Soundcard (license sold separately) enables recording and playback of 64 channels directly to a computer.
The system's flexibility is highlighted by manual adjustment of anti-aliasing filters for optimal impulse and frequency response, as well as SteadyClock FS technology for jitter suppression. Separate Word Clock and MADI connectors (coaxial + optional optical via SFP) allow for easy integration into existing infrastructure.
Control is managed through an intuitive front panel, Wi-Fi or USB web interface, as well as JSON API and MIDI SysEx commands. The built-in routing matrix allows for flexible distribution of signals between all analog and digital interfaces.
