The RME Fireface 802 FS Anniversary Edition, carefully designed for both live performances and studio conditions, is a versatile 60-channel audio/MIDI USB-B interface intended for demanding users who do not want to compromise on sound quality and stability, and who require ultra-low latency. The Fireface 802 FS Anniversary Edition, housed in an elegant 1 x 19-inch chassis, features a newly designed analog and digital board with four high-performance microphone/instrument/line preamps, reference converters, a complete set of effects, and operates at frequencies up to 192 kHz, ensuring flawless sound reproduction and capturing all nuances with exceptional clarity.
Other professional features include the SteadyClock FS jitter suppression, individually switchable reference levels for all input/output devices, DC-coupled outputs on all 8 analog line outputs, standalone functionality, DIGICheck measurement and analysis tools, and seamless operation with Mac and Windows.
On the front panel of the Fireface 802 FS Anniversary Edition are four high-performance XLR/TRS combo inputs, providing exceptional precision in transmitting microphone, instrumental, and line signals. Additionally, two headphone connectors provide a high output level of +17 dBu, ensuring sufficient volume even for high-impedance headphones. The rear panel offers extensive connectivity options. In addition to MIDI and Wordclock I/O, two optical ADAT I/O modules, AES/EBU, and eight balanced analog inputs and outputs operating at line level can be found. The newly introduced multi-mode allows two ADAT I/O devices to function as separate optical inputs and outputs for S/PDIF.
The Fireface 802 FS Anniversary Edition also includes a class-compliant mode for use with TotalMix FX mixing/routing software for iPad, allowing users to control the interface from their iPad without using a computer. Additionally, users can conveniently connect the ARC USB remote control surface (sold separately) via the USB-A port for TotalMix FX mixing/routing software control.

Class-leading SteadyClock FS Digital Synchronization
The SteadyClock FS system provides superior performance in all synchronization modes. Its highly efficient jitter suppression refreshes and cleans up any clock signal and provides a clock signal as a reference word clock output. The cleaned and jitter-free clock signal can be used as a reference clock signal in any application, regardless of the quality of the external clock signal.
Room EQ and Binaural Effects Combined for Immersive Sound
The integration of room EQ into TotalMix FX adds room calibration capabilities to RME's ecosystem, making Fireface an ideal solution for immersive audio systems, including Dolby ATMOS. The room EQ consists of nine bands with a fully parametric equalizer, individual output delay, and volume calibration. Users can freely adjust up to 20 room equalizers simultaneously on any outputs they choose, including stereo, headphone outputs, and digital outputs for maximum flexibility. Settings can be entered manually or imported using tools such as Sonarworks or Room EQ Wizard.
A Binaural Crossed feature has also been added. This feature provides speaker emulation in headphones, which is ideal for mixing stereo or atmospheric effects in headphones. The crossfeed function simulates speaker behavior in terms of channel separation, allowing for an extremely wide range of sound adjustment in headphones across 5 stages.
DIGICheck Function for High-Resolution Sound Measurement
The DIGICheck software (available for free download separately) can be used for measuring, testing, analyzing, and measuring digital audio streams. It also includes a spectral analyzer, goniometer, and bit statistics in professional quality.
ARC USB Remote Control
The optional ARC USB remote connects to the computer via USB and directly interacts with TotalMix FX. It features 15 assignable and illuminated buttons, one encoder wheel, and a TS connector for connecting a footswitch. The ARC USB is a USB 1.1 MIDI remote control surface for Fireface 802 FS. As it operates as a UAC 1 class device, it is initially compatible with Windows and Mac OS X. Once the device is detected by the operating system, TotalMix FX will automatically detect the ARC USB and interact with it using simple MIDI commands to control the 802 FS.
Stand-Alone Operation with Configuration Recovery
The Fireface 802 FS Anniversary Edition can be configured and set up directly via iPad, MIDI controller, and ARC USB. Additionally, there are 6 memory slots where the current configuration can be stored permanently. This way, the 802 FS can operate independently from the computer. In stand-alone mode, it can switch between various devices with the press of a button.
