ME DMC-842 is an 8-channel interface, converter, and controller for working with digital microphones in AES42 format, and digital devices in AES3 and AES/EBU formats. The device allows you to connect and control up to 8 digital microphones, as well as convert their signals to ADAT, AES/EBU, analog (XLR), and optionally to MADI format (requires optional I64 MADI Card expansion card).
Eight individually switchable premium class converters offer excellent synchronization flexibility and additional usage options, considering simultaneous support for AES42, AES3, and AES/EBU. It serves as a power supply and control device for digital microphones that support the AES42 standard. AES42 operating modes defined in DMC-842 - Mode 1 and Mode 2, are individually supported for each input.
Mode 1 defines asynchronous operations. Working with multiple microphones in Mode 1 requires the use of sample rate converters included in the DMC-842. Mode 2 provides synchronous operation. In both modes, control information can be sent to the microphone and status information can be received for each individual microphone. Depending on the specific microphone model, parameters such as level (gain), polar pattern, hi-pass filter, compression, etc., can be controlled. Microphone parameter control functions are available directly from the front panel of the device.
