RME ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition
The RME ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition is an external 2-channel analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converter of high-end class. The ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition is an updated version of the ADI-2 Pro FS Black Edition converter from RME. This device combines a digital converter, USB audio interface, and headphone amplifier.
New AK4493 DAC
The new version of the converter features improved SteadyClock 3 jitter suppression technology, updated MRC remote control, redesigned powerful headphone outputs, and improved signal-to-noise ratio and distortion reduction thanks to the new AK4493 DAC chip. These changes have not altered the converter's operation, functions, or behavior in any way. Everything remains the same as before.
Flexible Features
As the most versatile converter on the market, the ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition offers balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs, dual Extreme Power headphone outputs, proprietary SteadyClock 3 jitter suppression, 4-step input and output level control, signal processing with DSP processor, operation via external power source, full USB compatibility, up to 768 kHz sampling frequency, DSD recording, and direct DSD playback.
The USB 2.0 port allows connection to iOS devices and is used for firmware updates. As a computer interface, the ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition offers stereo (2 inputs and 2 outputs) and multi-channel modes (6 inputs / 8 outputs). When connected to Mac OS X, no additional system configuration is required, and it can work out of the box. In Windows, the ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition uses RME's MADIface driver for full compatibility with WDM and ASIO.
Professional Audio Converters
The converter features a 4-channel ADC supporting a sampling frequency of up to 786 kHz and DSD recording, while 2 DACs are used for separate stereo outputs. Internal signal processing, such as equalizer, spectral analysis, etc., is handled by a powerful digital signal processor with a performance of 2.17 gigaflops.
For ease of use, a high-quality sample rate converter switchable to AES or SPDIF input has been added, solving any synchronization issues between them. The latest RME SteadyClock III technology ensures perfect jitter reduction and stable clocking, regardless of whether internal or external clock pulses are used.
Dedicated Headphone Amplifier
RME engineers have developed a new headphone output cascade that maximizes DAC performance for headphone outputs - even when using low-impedance headphones. Two fully separated stereo headphone outputs provide the same sound quality at 120 dBA as the line outputs, ensuring noise-free sound.
Multi-Remote Control
The Multi-Remote Control (MRC) provides buttons for standby on/off, volume, balance, low and high frequencies, input selection (optical, coaxial, or USB), mute, volume and equalizer on/off. Additionally, there are four programmable buttons providing access to 52 different functions and commands.
