The new Atrium speakers have an additional mounting option at an angle. All models still meet US military standards for operation in harsh salty and sandy conditions. These speakers can withstand thirty-degree Russian frosts and fifty-degree African heat. The rugged and durable polymer composite enclosure initially comes in white but can be painted in any color if desired.
The Polk Audio Atrium 8 SDI speaker meets all the requirements for outdoor use, withstanding moisture, ultraviolet rays, salt mist, and temperature fluctuations. Constructed with ABS plastic, aluminum, and brass, the Polk Audio Atrium 8 SDI is rust-resistant and designed for long-term use.
An interesting feature of this model is its versatility. The speaker is equipped with a 6.5-inch low-frequency driver and two tweeters, and can be switched to mono or stereo modes with a special switch. This allows for quality sound coverage of a small area with a single speaker or, by connecting a pair of Polk Audio Atrium 8 SDI to a two-channel amplifier, a true stereo image can be achieved. The speakers in the speaker are designed using the proprietary Dynamic Balance technology (also used in Polk Audio home speakers), providing significant sound pressure without noticeable distortion.
The Polk Audio Atrium 8 SDI is very easy and convenient to install thanks to the swivel mount, allowing it to be directed in the desired direction. Two pairs of convenient screw terminals are provided for connection to the amplifier. The speaker can be installed horizontally or vertically, on a flat surface or in a corner, depending on specific needs.
The Atrium series speakers meet US military standards for environmental resistance: "ASTM D5894-UV Salt Fog" (resistance to salt mist), "Mil standard 810 Immersion" (military standard for water immersion resistance), and "Mil standard 883 Method 10098 for salt and corrosion" (military standard for salt and corrosion resistance).
