The PMC15 XBD is the perfect embodiment of the PMC15 design. This two-cabinet system consists of the standard three-way PMC15 speaker, supplemented by a second identical cabinet equipped with only a low-frequency driver. This combination increases power and low-frequency extension, providing greater scale and impact, and is ideal for both stereo monitoring and immersive monitoring in large-scale music tracking and mixing applications, as well as for film and TV post-production, mastering, and streaming.
The main cabinet features a 34mm soft dome handmade tweeter and the PMC75v3 mid-frequency driver with exclusive a-void damping and signature n-compass waveguide. All of this is housed on a rotatable panel for vertical or horizontal positioning. The illuminated logo displays the system status.
Low frequencies are reproduced by an innovative 15-inch bass driver of proprietary design, specially developed to work with the latest version of our ATL cabinet with LaminairX ventilation slots. The XBD cabinet features the same 10-inch bass driver connected in parallel to the main speaker, working to enhance the system's scale and impact. The primary and XBD cabinets can be placed on separate vertical or horizontal stands or stacked side by side in a ceiling grid.
Power to both cabinets is provided by the rack-mountable PMC Master36 DSP/amplifier, using ultra-transparent Class D amplification delivering 800W to the tweeter and mid-frequency drivers, and 1000W to each of the two bass drivers, providing a total power of 3.6kW. The built-in DSP system provides precise digital crossovers optimized for the individual combination of PMC15 drivers, as well as transparent excursion limiting for system protection and a comprehensive equalizer for room optimization. The system accepts both analog and digital inputs and can be controlled via a standard local network through the browser-based SoundAlign2 interface.
