PMC10-4 XBD is the perfect embodiment of the PMC10-4 concept - a huge, uncompromising main monitoring system designed for the most demanding recording and mixing conditions in the world. Drawing on the architectural philosophy and visual language of the iconic QB1, which was developed in close collaboration with Capitol Studios engineers, PMC10-4 XBD is the ultimate form of a true benchmark main monitor.
PMC10-4 XBD provides exceptional dynamic range and deep low-end extension, as well as outstanding resolution, refinement, and micro-detail. It features eight built-in 10-inch low-frequency drivers with ultra-long throw, working in perfect harmony. Each of the two latest generation ATL Advanced Transmission Line enclosures houses four devices with LaminairX ventilation system. This design ensures fast, controlled, and precise bass reproduction on a massive scale.
The powerful low-frequency system easily integrates into the mid-high-frequency architecture of PMC, consisting of a high-precision 34mm soft-dome tweeter and PMC75v3 midrange driver reinforced with PMC's n-compass waveguide, providing controlled dispersion, consistent phase coherence, and tonal consistency across the listening area. This extensive system is designed to ensure reliable implementation of production and engineering solutions even in extreme operating conditions.
The entire PMC10-4 XBD system is controlled by the proprietary DSP/amplifier unit Master36, where DSP accuracy ensures high performance. Optimized crossovers, transparent system protection, and comprehensive room equalization are implemented through PMC's SoundAlign2 interface, allowing for precise sound tuning without compromising signal integrity. This device delivers 800W of power to each tweeter and midrange driver.
Eight bass drivers operate in pairs, with the first pair powered directly from the Master36, each receiving 1000W of power. The second pair in the main enclosure and both pairs in the XBD enclosure are powered by their own power20 amplifiers, totaling three. Working together, these amplifiers provide the PMC10-4 XBD system with exceptional Class D amplification power of 9.6kW. Three power20 units are connected to the Master36 through PMC's masterlink connection system, and discreetly glowing logos on each enclosure provide feedback on the system's status.
PMC10-4 XBD is truly a monumental main monitoring solution, delivering visual impact, forensic detail, wide SPL capabilities, and uncompromising low-frequency performance for the most elite control rooms in the world.
The PMC10-4 subwoofer provides powerful low-frequency characteristics with ultra-low distortion thanks to four long-throw drivers and precise amplification through a 3kW DSP system. The PMC10-4 SUB is a dual-purpose device that serves either as an independent low-frequency subwoofer in addition to any PMC monitoring system or to reinforce the main full-range PMC10-4 monitor, creating a two-enclosure PMC10-4 XBD system. Like its siblings, the PMC10-4 SUB features the latest generation ATLTM transmission line enclosure with LaminairXTM air ventilation system.
With four innovative 10-inch low-frequency drivers of proprietary design developed to order, which have a wide frequency range and provide excellent low-frequency reproduction in an incredibly wide bandwidth, leading to ultra-low distortion levels at all monitoring levels.
