Novation Launchkey 61 MK3 is an intuitive MIDI keyboard controller that is fully integrated for use with Ableton Live and external equipment. The third generation Launchkey keyboards have retained all the best features of the older models and have gained a range of new functions: a powerful arpeggiator with Mutate function, Scale and Chord modes that can be used independently, and a 5-pin DIN MIDI output. The Scale mode transposes the keys into notes of the selected scale, while the Chord mode plays chords with just one finger touch.
The front panel now features a screen that displays parameters and their changes. The 8 Scale modes of the Launchkey MK3 transpose the keys into notes of the chosen scale. The 3 Chord modes transform the keys and pads into an interactive panel, where each note played is harmonically and tonally connected. The arpeggiator allows you to explore new melodies and quickly find ideas, while the "Mutate" function modifies patterns into new forms. Custom modes simplify the interaction between the Novation Launchkey MK3 and software. They can be programmed via Novation Components and allow you to customize the behavior of the Launchkey: control element functions, MIDI routing, pad color, and much more. The large pads with improved sensitivity ensure better dynamic control. The 8 fixed knobs provide software control.
Integration with Ableton Live is facilitated by dedicated buttons: Capture MIDI, Track Arm, Quantize, Click, and Loop. In addition to Ableton Live, Launchkey also offers full integration with Logic and Reason, as well as compatibility with Studio One, Cubase, and Pro Tools via HUI. The Novation Launchkey MK3 comes with an impressive software package including Ableton Live 10 Lite, Serato Sample LE, Spitfire Audio LABS Expressive Strings, XLN Audio Addictive Keys, Klevgrand R0Verb, DAW Cassette, AAS Session Bundle, a 2-month subscription to Splice Sounds, and the Novation Sound Collective program.
