This model is the least functional in the Maschine controller lineup, but despite this, you will have full control over most parameters. Maschine software is not sold separately from the controllers, which is specifically done to promote live electronic music performance. Most artists carefully compose music in studios, but simply play a project or backing track with pre-programmed automation, transitions, and effects on stage. This device has many physical controls that allow you to manipulate these parameters in real time, creating a unique effect of live music unfolding before the audience. There are 16 touch-sensitive full-size pads equipped with colored backlighting that changes depending on the mode. There are 4 modes: Standard Pad for single hits, Keyboard for playing melodies, Chords for playing chords, and Step, which turns the pads into a sequencer. The pads can also perform various functions within the program, such as transport, quantization, pitch shifting, undo, and more. The device also features a multifunctional touch strip controller called Smart Strip, which can control effects, change pitch, play arpeggios, and more. There are also many keys for controlling other functions, as well as a movable encoder that eliminates the need for a computer mouse. Connection to a computer and power is done via a USB-B port. Therefore, to use this DJ controller, you only need a computer or laptop and an output device, such as headphones.
