Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol A49
The Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol A49 is a portable MIDI keyboard from the Komplete Kontrol series, designed for seamless integration with audio production software (DAWs). It is ideal for both studio and live performance use. Supported DAWs include NI Maschine, Logic Pro X, Garage Band, Nuendo, Ableton Live, and Cubase. This model is compatible with 64-bit Windows and macOS operating systems only.
For playing musical parts, the keyboard features semi-weighted keys with 49 keys that are velocity-sensitive. The keys also support a Smart Strip function to prevent playing out of key, avoiding any false notes. On the front panel, there are 19 buttons and 1 encoder for controlling DAW functions such as stop and record, quantization, navigation, and more. Additionally, these buttons can control the parameters of virtual instruments, while 8 rotary knobs can be assigned to control effects, filters, modulation, and other settings. There are also 2 wheels for pitch bend and modulation intensity adjustments. A sustain pedal can be connected via a 1/4'' Jack TRS input, although the pedal itself is not included. The device connects to a computer and is powered via a USB-B port.
Upon registering the device on the manufacturer's website, users gain access to a variety of software for music creation and editing. This includes the Komplete Kontrol package, Maschine Essentials, and Ableton Live 10 Lite for electronic music production. There is also a set of plugins including The Gentleman, Monark, Reaktor Prism, and Scarbee Mark I. The device is also compatible with the Traktor Kontrol S2 DJ program.
