Naim Mu-So 2nd Gen for Bentley Edition
The Naim Mu-So 2nd Generation is built on the Naim music streaming platform, developed by 25 engineers to ensure high-performance streaming, whether you're playing locally stored digital music, internet radio, or music streaming services like TIDAL and Spotify. The Naim Mu-So 2nd Generation boasts 450W of musical power and a brand-new set of speaker drivers, optimized in collaboration with Naim's subsidiary, Focal.
The streaming capabilities of the new Mu-So 2nd Generation include support for digital files up to 32-bit/384kHz via UPnP server. Apple AirPlay 2 is built-in, along with native streaming for Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz, Apple Music, Google Chromecast, and internet radio. The device also features enhanced Wi-Fi connectivity for more convenient streaming, while an Ethernet socket remains an option for those who prefer wired connections. The devices can also be wirelessly connected via Bluetooth, or you can use USB memory cards or hard drives to play music. Other enhancements of the Naim Mu-So 2nd Generation include the addition of HDMI ARC for connecting to a TV's audio output or gaming console.
The Naim Mu-So 2 system features a premium-class wooden enclosure with a new polished finish and a decorative speaker grille in a new style. Inspired by classic Bentley car interiors, the Mu-So 2 has a gloss finish made of African Ayous hardwood – a sustainable and vibrant option for an already outstanding sound system. Other features include a copper-anodized radiator and a copper-threaded speaker grille, a smoked acrylic plate, and the iconic Bentley grille pattern around the volume touch dial. Thanks to the upgrades, the enclosure has gained 13% more internal volume, improving bass sound. The structural connections and front panel have been strengthened, reducing vibrations. The distinctive heat sink is now more compact but just as efficient. It also houses Naim's signature Wi-Fi antenna.
The Naim Mu-So 2nd Generation can also be used as part of a multiroom audio setup. There are three ways to create a multiroom ecosystem. The first option is to use other Naim products, including the first-generation Mu-So and Mu-So Qb, via the updated Naim app. The second option is to use wireless speakers compatible with Apple AirPlay 2 via the Apple Home app. Finally, multiroom audio can be achieved using Google Chromecast devices through groups managed via the Google Home app.
The 2nd Generation Mu-So's 450W of musical power is complemented by improved and optimized speakers – a joint project of Naim and Focal's research and development departments. Focal has been producing benchmark speakers since 1979, and their expertise has elevated the speaker's performance to a new level.
The new intuitive interface features 15 touch-sensitive buttons and a large backlit volume control dial. The display wakes up thanks to a built-in proximity sensor.
