NAD C538 - the new CD players from the well-known Canadian company NAD, which are the entry-level models in the new series of components based on the improved legendary model C565 BEE. The players have some external cosmetic changes and a reworked circuit using high-quality selected components.
Design and Housing
NAD C538 players have an elegant, modern, and concise exterior. The devices are made in an aluminum case of small height, and the players are mounted on a sturdy chassis with anti-resonant execution. The front panel traditionally has a disc drive tray, a small display with adjustable backlight, a power button, and main control elements. The rear panel features connection ports.
CD Playback
When creating the NAD C538 players, Canadian engineers tried to do everything possible to reproduce music files in high-resolution formats. The main change and improvement is the use of a new model of a high-precision clock generator, which minimizes jitter levels. NAD C538 devices can play both regular CDs and CD-R/RW discs, and are capable of decoding MP3/WMA formats when listening to tracks with a total duration of 10 hours. For added convenience, the players have functions for track repeat and programming playback sequences with memory for 40 tracks. The proprietary remote control can be used to activate and set these functions.
DAC
The players are equipped with a digital-to-analog converter Wolfson DAC with parameters of 24 bit/192 kHz, as well as high-class operational amplifiers. These enhancements significantly improved and expanded the bass range. The players are characterized by tonal accuracy, increased sound scalability, and depth of soundstage.
Connections
To play music files from external sources on the NAD C538, there is a USB port. The rear panel features analog RCA outputs, optical and coaxial digital connectors for connecting external DACs. Separate power circuits are used for the analog and digital sections.
