The MMF-9.3 turntable by Music hall possesses many unique features, being a two-speed audiophile quality turntable with a belt drive. The construction of the turntable includes a base made of three plates and an outer electromotor. The MMF-9.3 turntable is housed in a vibration-absorbing casing with a glossy lacquer finish.
Features:
- Unique Music Hall MMF-9.3 base construction
- Full carbon fiber tonearm
- Speed regulators for 33 and 45 RPM located in the front left corner of the turntable to eliminate any potential vibration from the motor/belt to the cartridge
- High-quality gold-plated RCA connectors and detachable phono cable
- Resonance-free acrylic platter with metal screw clamp and soft felt mat
- Adjustable feet with non-slip pads
- Noiseless, fully manual belt drive construction
Base made of three plates
The lower base has three adjustable pointed feet and comes with a set of small discs (caps). These discs protect the surface on which the turntable is placed from scratches. An alcohol level is mounted in the top plate of the base. The three base plates are separated by half-spheres made of synthetic Sorbothane acting as a suspension and vibration isolation system. External audio connectors are attached to the lower plate. A high-quality connecting cable is included in the set.
Electromotor
A 15-volt AC electromotor is located at the front left corner of the turntable. The speed control system powers the electromotor with 50 Hz frequency instead of 60 Hz (the motor runs quieter at 50 Hz). The electromotor is installed in a recess located in the front left sector of the turntable.
Support disc
The drive belt wraps around a 1-inch (25 mm) acrylic support disc. Acrylic was chosen for its excellent acoustic qualities and isolating properties. The support disc rotates on an exceptionally quiet inverted ceramic bearing. A soft felt mat is included in the standard setup of the turntable.
Tonearm
The turntable features a "Project 9cc" tonearm, a solid 9-inch tonearm with a carbon fiber arm tube and cartridge mount. The inverted bearing uses four hardened Swiss ABEC 7 races. The center of gravity of the counterweight is at the same level as the stylus tip. The counterweight is decoupled from the tonearm and acts as a resonance damper. The tonearm also has adjustable vertical tracking angle [VTA], a damped micro lift, and high-quality flexible internal wiring made of specially pure copper.
Cartridge
The MMF-9.3 turntable comes standard with a Goldring Eroica LX cartridge. The Eroica LX is a moving coil cartridge with a low mass, high-strength body, rare earth neodymium magnet, and Gyger II stylus with linear contact. This cartridge perfectly complements the MMF-9.3 turntable, ensuring excellent sound quality that will delight you for many years.
