The MMF-7.3 model looks minimalist yet solid. The table consists of two panels with four sorbothane dampers inserted between them – a polymer with enhanced anti-resonance properties. This isolates the upper platform, where the main bearing and tonearm are mounted, from external vibrations. The entire structure is decoupled from the installation surface through three height-adjustable steel cones with protective footpads. Horizontal control is maintained by a built-in bubble level.
The rotational motion is transmitted to the disc via a round belt from a DC motor, which is set in a round through hole and has no rigid contact with the turntable base. Stabilization and speed selection of 33/45 are done by electronic circuitry. These measures have brought significant improvements compared to the budget model MMF-2.3 - rumble level reduced to -73 dB, and deviations from the nominal speed do not exceed ±0.06%.
The standard ProJect 9.1 straight tonearm with an effective length of 230mm is designed to accommodate cartridges weighing up to 16g. The carbon fiber tube has high rigidity and temperature stability with low mass. The counterweight is decoupled from the tonearm shaft and acts as a damper.
The turntable is equipped with an Ortofon 2M Bronze MM cartridge. The Ortofon 2M series is designed for precise and accurate information retrieval from the record groove. The 2M series is developed in collaboration with the Danish industrial designer Møller Jensen Design – the same designer behind the award-winning MC Jubilee and Kontrapunkt series. Inspired by the edges of a diamond, whose contours elegantly mimic the grooves on the record surface, the 2M series represents a combination of form and functionality.
