Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol A25
The Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol A25 is a portable MIDI keyboard from the Komplete Kontrol line, designed for tight integration with audio software to easily compose and perform electronic music. It is compatible with DAWs such as NI Maschine, Logic Pro X, Garage Band, Nuendo, Ableton Live, and Cubase. The device works seamlessly on Windows and macOS operating systems (64-bit only).
This model is the entry-level in the line and features a semi-weighted keyboard with 25 keys and velocity sensitivity. The front panel also includes 19 buttons for controlling functions like quantization, arpeggiator, record enable/disable, and more. These buttons allow for quick navigation through the DAW interface, selecting desired timbres, and modifying their sound. The keyboard can operate in Smart Strip mode, enabling precise note performance within a set scale. There are 8 assignable knobs to control various parameters such as filters, effects sends, volume, balance, and more. An encoder is available for DAW navigation. It has a sustain pedal input with a 1/4'' Jack TRS connector (pedal not included). Additionally, there are 2 wheels for pitch bend and modulation depth. Connection to a computer is done via a USB-B port, with power supply also through USB.
By registering the device on the Native Instruments website, users gain access to a variety of accompanying software, including Komplete Kontrol with multiple virtual instruments and plugins, Maschine Essentials for music production, Ableton Live 10 Lite workstation, and plugins like The Gentleman, Monark, Reaktor Prism, and Scarbee Mark I. Compatibility is also maintained with the Traktor Kontrol S2 DJ software. With this software, users can create and play electronic music live using only this controller and a personal computer. The small size of the device makes it convenient for concerts or rehearsals, and its sturdy construction protects it from damage during use.
