The M-Audio Keystation 88 MK3 is the third version of the popular MIDI keyboard designed for beginner musicians. This model is perfect for home use for practicing and composing music, and can also be used to control any analog synthesizer or rompler. The device offers a minimal set of necessary functions and features small dimensions and weight, making it convenient for transportation.
To play melodies, there are 88 full-size keys equipped with touch sensitivity. To expand capabilities and improve workflow, there are octave shift buttons, recording controls (Stop, Play, Rec), two wheels for pitch bend and modulation intensity, as well as a volume fader. There is also a transport panel for navigating software without using a keyboard or mouse. Two 1/4" Jack TRS inputs are available for optional expression and sustain pedals.
Connection to a computer or laptop is done via a USB-B port. Compatible operating systems include Windows and macOS, and for connecting to an iOS device, an Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit is required (sold separately). MIDI information can be sent to external musical equipment using the MIDI output on a standard 5-pin connector. When used with a computer, power is supplied via USB, but for standalone use with a synthesizer or drum machine, a 9V DC power adapter is required. The package includes a USB cable, as well as licenses for Pro Tools | First M-Audio Edition, Ableton Live Lite, and MPC Beats sample and plugin libraries. Additionally, after registering the product on the manufacturer's website, users will have access to online lessons from Melodics and Skoove.
