The KEF Q7 Meta floor-standing speakers have smaller dimensions compared to the higher-end models in the series and are designed for placement in fairly large rooms. These speakers stand out with an attractive design and high-quality construction, usually found in higher-priced models. The KEF Q7 Meta speakers are placed on stands that extend beyond the base area of the enclosure, providing good stability. The stands are equipped with height-adjustable spikes, ensuring the necessary mechanical isolation.

The KEF Q7 Meta speaker system is equipped with the 12th generation Uni-Q combined driver. Several important design changes were made to further enhance the sound quality. The 19mm tweeter with aluminum dome is loaded on a Tangerine waveguide, aligning its directional characteristics and eliminating phase distortions.
On the back of the tweeter, there is a MAT sound absorption element – a key update in the new generation Uni-Q drivers. The thin MAT element maintains a compact driver design while effectively dissipating sound waves from the back of the tweeter dome, resulting in transparent and detailed high-frequency sound.
The 10cm midrange driver in the Uni-Q setup features longitudinal ribs for resonance elimination. The driver's surround is curved to evenly propagate sound waves without distortions caused by reflections from the front panel. The low-frequency driver in the KEF Q7 Meta has an aluminum diffuser with special ribs for added stiffness. The tweeter also has an aluminum diaphragm with petal-shaped acoustic dampers. Both drivers are mounted on a common chassis with precisely matched magnetic systems.
Deep and clear bass
The Q series features a hybrid bass driver design that provides stiffness for piston-like motion, delivering impactful and fast bass response. Combined with a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeled ported bass reflex system, it offers precise and flexible bass control even at high output levels.
The KEF Q7 Meta's low-frequency driver is supported by two passive Auxiliary Bass Radiators (ABR) positioned on either side for more efficient bass delivery. The speaker cabinet is reinforced internally with braces and partitions dividing it into three sections. The upper section houses the Uni-Q driver, while the two lower sections, acoustically connected, create the load for the low-frequency driver. The speakers feature a crossover tuned at 2.3kHz with minimal phase distortion, ensuring accurate stereo imaging and natural vocal reproduction.
Shadow Flare Technology
Adapted from flagship models, the Shadow Flare technology features a carefully profiled transition that extends the Uni-Q waveguide effect. This design reduces unwanted cabinet diffraction, allowing high frequencies to radiate naturally without reaching the edges of the cabinet, resulting in significantly improved reproduction of fine details.
