KEF has been producing innovative speaker systems for over sixty years. The British audio manufacturer celebrated its anniversary by releasing the LS60 Wireless active speaker system. This all-in-one floor-standing speaker is one of the brand's most technologically advanced products.
The "holographic" sound quality is achieved thanks to the latest Uni-Q drivers and MAT technology.
The design of this speaker pair is impeccable, with sleek and slender cabinets featuring a narrow front panel that houses the Uni-Q coaxial driver. This is the 12th generation of the company's signature driver, but for the new model, the driver was developed from scratch, although it visually resembles its predecessors. The Uni-Q in the LS60 Wireless is the smallest in the family and includes a 10cm aluminum midrange driver and a 19mm aluminum dome tweeter. The drivers work in conjunction with the Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), which is an absorbing metamaterial plate installed behind the driver's magnetic system. According to KEF, this plate absorbs 99% of the driver's resonances, making the sound more detailed and transparent. The resonances are not transferred to the speaker's cabinet.
The LS60 Wireless uses Uni-Core low-frequency drivers from the KEF KS62 subwoofer. To maintain the elegant appearance of the speaker, the 14cm drivers are placed on the side panels. Two magnetic systems surround them, and the positioning allows for focused sound emanating from virtually a single point, creating nearly ideal listening conditions.

The total output power of the KEF LS60 Wireless speaker system is an impressive 1400W. The LS60 Wireless comprises a leading speaker (which houses all the connecting components) and a slave speaker, both of which are active and equipped with DSP and three amplifiers: Class D for low and mid frequencies and Class AB for the tweeter.

True Wireless Speakers
Most wireless speakers transmit music via a wireless network but require a wired connection between the speakers themselves. In the KEF LS60 Wireless, wireless connectivity means a wireless connection for both streaming audio and connecting the speakers. The digital signal transmission capabilities depend on the connection type. Wireless streaming works with signals up to 24-bit/96kHz, while the wired connection can transmit signals up to 24-bit/192kHz. The speakers support DSD up to DSD256 and MQA. The maximum signal resolution that can be delivered to the speakers is 24-bit/384kHz.
