The KEF LS50 Wireless II is an active wireless speaker, the second generation of the LS50 Wireless series. The speakers have become more powerful and have significantly expanded streaming capabilities, including support for AirPlay 2 and Chromecast. They also feature wireless connectivity between the speakers, as previously seen in the KEF LSX model. This model offers improved sound quality, exceptionally reliable connection, advanced control capabilities, and extensive sound customization options.

The KEF LS50 Wireless II model is a premium self-contained Hi-Fi audio system with wireless capabilities and streaming functions (24-bit / 384kHz files, MQA, DSD256). It supports AirPlay 2, Chromecast, and wired connections to a TV, gaming console, or turntable.
The built-in 100-watt Class AB amplifier powers the tweeter, while the midrange/woofer driver is driven by a 280-watt Class D amplifier. The integrated Music Integrity Engine sound processor ensures maximum performance from the coaxial driver and the MAT absorber disc.

The revolutionary Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) eliminates distortions to deliver a cleaner and more natural sound. The 12th generation Uni-Q driver with MAT driver array provides reduced coloration, lower distortion, and a more transparent and natural sound, evenly distributed throughout the room.

The LS50 Wireless II speakers, like the passive KEF LS50 Meta, feature an updated 12th generation Uni-Q driver with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT). This Uni-Q driver is based on the Uni-Q driver used in the KEF R series speakers, with modifications to accommodate the system's design.
KEF's MAT technology utilizes a specially designed labyrinthine structure, with each segment absorbing sound in a specific frequency range, behaving like an "acoustic black hole" that absorbs 99% of undesirable sound energy, compared to traditional absorbers such as polyester fiber (synthetic cotton), which provide only 60% absorption.
Fully wireless or wired connection between speakers
The two speakers can be wirelessly connected to each other or connected via a cable.
For easy setup in wireless mode, both LS50 Wireless II speakers are pre-coupled at the factory. The wireless transmission is independent of your Wi-Fi signal and the sound is converted to 96kHz / 24-bit.
The speakers can also be connected with a cable using a CAT-6 cable connected to the corresponding connectors on the rear panel. In the KEF Connect app settings, the wired mode must be enabled. In this mode, all audio signals are resampled to 192kHz / 24-bit.

The KEF LS50 Wireless II speakers support AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, ROON (requires firmware update), UPnP, and Bluetooth 4.2.
