The KEF Ci3160REF-THX is an in-wall speaker system with THX certification that belongs to the Reference series. It is positioned as the entry-level in-wall system after the Ci5160REF-THX. The main difference is the number of low-frequency drivers, with the Ci3160REF-THX having two instead of four, resulting in smaller dimensions.
Features:
- In-wall speaker system
- Number of drivers: 4
- Frequency range: 32 Hz – 30 kHz
- Sensitivity: 90 dB
- Impedance: 4 Ohms
The Ci3160REF-THX features a 6.5-inch two-way proprietary Uni-Q coaxial driver in the center. It has a ventilated aluminum dome tweeter located in the center of the low-midrange driver's diaphragm. On the edges, there are two 6.5-inch low-frequency drivers with aluminum diaphragms. They are connected by a sturdy aluminum front baffle that effectively resists unwanted vibrations.
Thanks to the symmetric arrangement of the drivers on the front panel, the system is versatile in its applications. In addition to serving as vertical satellites in left, right, side, or rear positions, they can also be used as center channel systems.
Like all speakers in the Reference series, the KEF Ci3160REF-THX is designed and manufactured at the KEF factory in Maidstone, Kent, England. In addition to the pair of in-wall speakers, the Reference series includes two floor-standing speakers, one wall-mounted speaker, two center channel models, and a subwoofer.
