The KEF Ci160QR is a high-quality 2-way passive in-ceiling speaker with a closed design and a Uni-Q driver, where the high-frequency driver is placed at the acoustic center of the midrange cone. This allows the midrange and high-frequency drivers to sound like a single point source. As a result, the sound is widely and evenly distributed throughout the room. In practice, this means that you can experience excellent sound at any point in the listening area.
The KEF Ci160QR features a 160mm Uni-Q driver and a 19mm high-frequency driver with an aluminum dome diaphragm and a "Tangerine" waveguide. This not only provides exceptionally wide dispersion of the emitted signal, but also offers excellent protection for the driver. The front-mounted driver eliminates diffraction and creates an acoustic system that works brilliantly regardless of the installation location. KEF's research in developing the Ci series models has resulted in the creation of the Ultra Thin Bezel design, which is a maximally flat surround around the speaker system.
The KEF Ci160QR includes gold-plated spring-loaded terminal blocks and a new computer-optimized decorative ring, which provides stunning clarity of midrange sound and a more open and natural sound in the wide listening area. It also features powder-coated decorative grilles and KEF's signature plastisol coating, which provides corrosion resistance and is perfect for use in high-humidity conditions.
