The recording features such artists as PartyNextDoor, Ty Dolla Sign, Kid Cudi, Charlie Wilson, Jeremih, and 070 Shake. The album was produced by Kanye himself, together with Michael Dean.
The album became West's eighth consecutive studio album to debut at number one on the US Billboard 200. The album was certified gold and platinum in the US and UK.
Ye is the most detached and ascetic album in the rapper's discography. The work on the release took place among the mountains in Wyoming, which are depicted on the album cover.
