The sound base of Summit Ama is an 8-inch (200mm) low-frequency driver with a cast frame, utilizing a three-layer hybrid carbon-plastic composite cone (HC4) made with a patented formula featuring front and rear surfaces of carbon fiber and pure cellulose, connected by an inner core of foam. This hybrid cone construction provides the necessary rigidity, overall mass, and structure for high performance, low distortion, and high power.
Signal distribution control for each driver in Summit Pumori is done through the MultiCap™ crossover network with single-wired connection and connection with two amplifiers/bi-wire.
By replacing traditional large capacitors with a greater number of smaller capacitors, the design provides lower ESR (electrostatic resistance) and reduced losses. This all leads to higher signal bandwidth for the speakers, improved handling, enhanced dynamics, ultra-low distortion, and exceptional sound clarity.
All drivers and crossover components are housed in a well-designed enclosure with inwardly stepped multi-layer supports and dampened curved wall construction to minimize standing waves inside the enclosure. The enclosures are available in various finishes: glossy black with Summit platinum inserts or glossy black wood veneer with Summit gold inserts.
To securely attach to the floor, a high-load dampening base with specially designed isolating JBL | IsoAcoustic® feet is included with Summit Ama, which withstands vibrations caused by the speaker system, effectively separating the loudspeaker from the surface it is placed on. This isolation provides richer bass, improved soundstage, and clearer image with a greater sense of space.
