iFi Zen DAC Signature

The ZEN DAC Signature pairs well with the ZEN CAN Signature. When used together, these two components from the ZEN Signature series create a fantastic desktop headphone system for both digital and analog sources, further enhancing the reputation of the iFi ZEN series for exceptional performance and versatility at affordable prices.

The ZEN DAC Signature, framed in a "cosmic blue" finish that now characterizes iFi's signature products, has been designed as a pure DAC, without a built-in headphone amplifier. Its sole purpose is to serve as a source for connecting an external amplifier, whether it be a headphone amplifier or speaker amplifier. This design allows for upgrading the audio chain and easily performing upgrades. While the existing ZEN DAC showed the benefits of balanced circuitry, the ZEN DAC Signature further enhances the sound quality with its improved balanced topology.

High-quality Circuits. Superior Sound

Key surface-mount components have been replaced with Hi-End components used in higher-class devices, including Panasonic OS-CON and Elna Silmic II capacitors. The analog output circuitry has been improved to provide short direct signal paths for optimal signal purity. This leads to increased detail and expressiveness in sound quality.

Truly Native

The digital circuitry of the ZEN DAC Signature guarantees direct bit-perfect data transmission to the DAC, as well as providing an ideal PCM (up to 32-bit/384 kHz), DSD (up to DSD256), DXD, and MQA - Hi-Res streaming technology used by Tidal. The LED behind the aluminum volume knob displays the sampling frequency of incoming audio data. The programmable XMOS chip processing data coming through the USB input and the audiophile-grade oscillators eliminating jitter contribute to consistent processing of digital audio signals as they are received, processed, and converted into analog form.

iFi Zen Can Signature

The original ZEN CAN, a fully analog headphone amplifier, boasted the ability to drive complex load headphones, a balanced circuit, low distortion levels, and a universal sound adapter. The ZEN CAN Signature 6XX takes this to another level. It further enhances sound quality with a completely new circuitry design while retaining the universal functions of the "standard" version and adding a custom headphone profile setting, precisely tailored to the entire frequency response curve to maximize the popular headphone model.

ActivEQ Setting

The new feature, called ActivEQ, combines active and passive components to create a specific equalizer curve according to the specific pair of headphones, performed in the analog domain without hint of additional noise or distortion. ActivEQ comes with a preset for the 'MassDrop Sennheiser HD 6XX' headphones - a popular high-quality pair based on the Sennheiser HD 650. While these headphones are known for the quality of their midrange frequencies, they show some deficiencies in the low and high frequencies, which can be seen when measuring the frequency response.

The device offers impressive amplification capabilities, providing 1600mW (7.2V) with a 32-ohm load from the classic output, and 15V+ available for a 300-ohm load or more through the balanced 4.4mm output, ensuring that it unleashes the potential of complex magneto-planar headphones. Offering ultra-low distortion, detail, rich dynamics, and the ability to easily drive all types of headphones, the ZEN CAN Signature 6XX is truly a force to be reckoned with.

4.4mm Balanced Cable from iFi

The iFi 4.4mm - 4.4mm cable utilizes solid copper and silver conductors OFHC with a total thickness of 14AWG for optimal signal transmission. This is the perfect addition to the Signature set, as this audiophile cable will provide you with maximum balanced signal transmission and minimal noise level. The cable construction features an individual spiral minimized in capacitance and inductance. It also has non-combustible shielding provided by the minZ™ spiral design. The shielding protects the cable from radio frequency and electromagnetic noise, ensuring a clean audio signal transmission environment. RoHS-compatible insulation with excellent dielectric properties and super-soft (60P) HD polymer with a spark resistance of 1500V AC is used.
