iFi Power Station - Power Filter
The main advantage of the Power Station lies in the use of the latest version of the proprietary Active Noise Cancellation II technology. This is an active system that subtracts existing power noise with an anti-phase signal, unlike most systems on the market with passive filters.
The operating principle is similar to that used in noise-canceling headphones. Unlike passive systems, which are mostly effective at high frequencies, this one can work across the entire spectrum, reducing noise levels by about 40 dB. In addition, the Noise Cancellation II modules can do without bulky capacitors required in the passive version. This has made iFi devices more compact.
The intelligent diagnostic system integrated into the Power Station can indicate the correct polarity of the connection and the presence of grounding in the system. These points are important for reducing interference. Furthermore, the absence of grounding can be compensated for by connecting an additional grounding cable to the Power Station.
This option has been called "intelligent grounding" by the developers because it does not create a loop capable of causing interference, even if the system is already grounded. In addition, the Power Station can protect connected equipment from voltage spikes in the network. After such a spike, the system will simply reboot, but only when it is absolutely safe to do so.
The housing of the device is made of dark anodized aluminum, with each socket separated from others in its own chamber. The internal wiring with multi-layer polymer insulation is made of continuously cast OFHC copper with a purity of 99.9999%. The solid current-carrying buses and socket elements are also made from the same material.
