- Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor
- Supports DSD512 and PCM32-Bit/768kHz audio signals
The HiBy RS8 is a flagship-class player. The player is equipped with the high-performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC chipset. Paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of ROM, the RS8 ensures no lag when operating with the open Android OS 12. HiBy introduced the Darwin architecture in the award-winning RS6 audio player released last year. The company's engineers have redesigned and developed a completely new second-generation Darwin II architecture. It is highly flexible and fully configurable, creating endless possibilities for sound characteristic upgrades and evolution.
The R2R resistor array for the Darwin II architecture consists of 12 high-speed switches and 184 high-precision resistors. This is twice the number compared to the previous generation, effectively improving dynamic characteristics and accuracy in reproducing low-level signals. The digital signal passes through high-speed electronic switches, providing organic, transparent, and natural sound for listeners.
The Darwin II architecture effectively reduces nonlinearity caused by mismatches in resistor resistances in the R2R network. This enables calm and smooth sound reproduction with an organic timbre.
The HiBy RS8 has easy switching between NOS/OS modes. Non-OverSampling mode bypasses resampling and smoothing, instantly responding to transient processes and steps. It converts the digital signal into an analog signal in the crudest and most direct way, and is primarily suitable for high-bitrate and resolution music files (192kHz and above). The resampling mode easily removes aliasing artifacts using low-pass filters. All the functions of the Darwin architecture are utilized in this mode.
The device constantly supports peak output characteristics. It is equipped with a specially designed class A amplifier chip that provides perfect drive and produces powerful output capable of easily driving even full-size headphones. This class A amplifier circuit is designed using two OPA1652 chips and eight dual bipolar transistors from NXP. It also features a Turbo mode for powerful performance.
HiBy has equipped the RS8 with a large 12000mAh battery that provides up to 12 hours of music playback on a single charge. The player also supports PD2.0 fast charging technology.
