Hegel C54 - 4-channel power amplifier (4 x 150 W at 8 ohms) from the Custom series. With up to four channels of 150-watt analog amplification (per channel), it is suitable for virtually any existing speakers. The ability to switch the phase individually for each channel or choose between different gain coefficients for each channel makes the amplifier very easy to integrate into large systems.
Features:
- 4-channel power amplifier (4 x 150 W at 8 ohms)
- Minimum impedance: 2 ohms
- Signal-to-noise ratio: 100 dB
- Frequency range: 5 - 100000 Hz
- Support for SoundEngine 2 technology
The design incorporates the patented SoundEngine 2 technology, which offers many advantages. One of them is the use of low idle current, meaning that the powerful class A/B amplifier does not heat up like a regular one, allowing it to be installed in a 19-inch rack.
Another advantage of SoundEngine 2 is the very high damping factor (over 2000). The higher this factor, the deeper the bass and better control the amplifier can provide for the low-frequency drivers. This is one of the reasons why Hegel amplifiers are known for their dynamic sound. An even more important factor is the low level of distortion. Hegel SoundEngine 2 technology works almost like noise-canceling headphones. All distortion elements created in amplification circuits are dynamically suppressed by an identical signal in antiphase. So no matter how you configure your amplifier, it will always provide you with an outstanding soundstage with incredible dynamics.
The trigger input and output (allowing chain creation) provide the possibility of locating the amplifier in a separate room without worrying about separate power on/off. The amplifier has a height of 132 mm, with sturdy "ears" for mounting integrated into the housing. When installing in a rack, it is recommended to leave space above and below. Detachable and adjustable "ears" are also provided on the rear panel.
