In honor of its 45th anniversary, GENELEC company releases the active acoustic system GENELEC 8381A, capable of intelligently adapting to any acoustic environment. Expanding the patented technology used in The Ones series, the system promises to raise the bar even higher, offering controlled directivity along with axis and off-axis uncolored response.
Features:
- Patented coaxial MF/HF driver MDC with minimal SPL diffraction, operated by Genelec DSP processor
- The tweeter is surrounded by four diagonally located 5-inch dome midrange drivers, underneath them on the front panel is a 15-inch woofer, and to extend the LF range, two additional similar woofers are used on the sides of a separate enclosure
- Genelec GLM, which allows calibrating, configuring, and controlling the system
The GENELEC 8381A uses a patented MF and HF driver MDC (Minimum Diffraction Coaxial), surrounded by four five-inch dome drivers, forming a midrange conversion system. Exceptional clarity, visualization, and adaptivity. The forward-facing 15-inch LF driver is positioned directly underneath and complemented by an additional pair of 15-inch drivers located on both sides of the bottom of the enclosure.
The low-frequency drivers use Adaptive Woofer System technology, originally developed for the GENELEC W371A subwoofer, which is claimed to provide precise control over the system's LF output and ensures a smooth response at the listening position, highly resistant to problems caused by reflections and resonances in the room.
The frequency range of GENELEC 8381A is 20 Hz - 35 kHz (-6 dB), and the nearly 6 kW amplification allows a pair of GENELEC 8381A amplifiers to provide a maximum sound pressure level of 126 dB. Tight integration with GLM software allows for calibration, settings, and system management, minimizing the influence of room acoustics for listening and allowing the user to ensure that the system is capable of reproducing mixes that are well represented on other systems.
The software also includes the GRADE Room Report feature, which can perform a full analysis of system performance, providing users and studio designers with data to help tune room acoustics, adjust the acoustic system and listening position, and optimize bass management solutions.
Package includes:
