Made of specially shaped cast aluminum using the MDE (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure) technology, the 8351B weighs comparably to competitors made of MDF and composite materials. The signature Iso-Pod stand is designed to reduce vibrations and deliver the cleanest sound to the listener.
The dispersion of the Genelec 8351B is controlled over an unusually wide frequency range thanks to the large built-in waveguide with Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) technology, which allows for waveguide adjustment to amplifiers. One of the main features of this monitor is the triple amplification scheme (tri-amp): the signals for low, mid, and high frequencies are separately amplified. With a hidden dual coaxial driver with Minimum Diffraction Coaxial (MDC) and Acoustically Concealed Woofers (ACW) technologies, this speaker opens up new sound possibilities.
The system incorporates the most advanced Smart Active Monitoring (SAM) monitoring technology with AutoCal auto-calibration technology. The Genelec Loudspeaker Manager 2.0 (GLM) software allows for fine individual adjustment of up to 30 intelligent monitors and smart subwoofers to facilitate multi-channel configuration.
