Genelec 8050B is an active two-way nearfield monitor designed for use in both stationary and mobile studios, for broadcasting, post-production studios, and permanent installations with suspended mounting. It can also be used as a personal monitor.
Features:
- Nearfield active monitor
- Bi-amp scheme
- Amplifier power - 270W (150+120)
- 8" woofer and 1" metal dome tweeter
- Bass reflex port
- Built-in attenuators
- Mid-range frequency adjustment
- Protection against radio frequency interference, overheating, and power on/off clicks
- Cast aluminum cabinet
- Magnetic shielding
The cabinet is made of a special shaped, cast aluminum, yet the monitor weighs comparably to competitors made of MDF and composite materials. The DCW (Directivity Control Waveguide) technology is responsible for adjusting the waveguide configuration to the amplifiers.
The monitor consists of an 8" cone woofer and a 1" metal dome tweeter, providing a smooth frequency response and wide sound dispersion. Both drivers have neodymium magnets to minimize interference with other equipment and protect against overheating. The rear panel features a bass reflex port to enhance the lower frequency range. The cabinet has magnetic shielding to prevent signal interference.
Genelec uses a bi-amp scheme, amplifying low and mid signals separately from high frequencies. The monitor also includes an active crossover with a 1.8 kHz separation frequency. The total output power of the amplifiers is 270W (150+120).
This monitor is an excellent professional tool for various studio applications. It is ideal for musicians in need of compact yet powerful personal monitoring and home theater systems.
Package includes:
- Monitor
