With a balanced XLR input, a three-inch bass driver, 3/4-inch tweeter, and efficient class D power amplifiers (one for each driver), the GENELEC 8010A model produces a higher level of sound pressure than you might expect from monitors of such compact size. The presence of the Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) scheme allows you to save energy by putting the monitor into sleep mode automatically when there is no audio signal for a certain period. When the signal is detected again, the monitor will "wake up" automatically. This scheme allows bypassing the signal during automatic switch to reserve functions.
