The compact active subwoofer Genelec 7380A is designed to be used in 7.1 audio systems based on Genelec active monitors. The subwoofer features a 10" (250 mm) low-frequency shielded driver placed in a cabinet with the patented Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE) design with a phase inverter. The LSE consists of a spiral metal sheet placed between two MDF panels. The side slot serves as a phase inverter, which, in conjunction with the optimal cabinet geometry for sound wave propagation, operates much more efficiently than traditional designs.

Moreover, this cabinet has high rigidity and is practically free from resonances. The driver is powered by an 800 W Class D amplifier: combined with the precise matching of the LF driver and cabinet, this allows the subwoofer to produce low frequencies starting from 16 Hz (+/- 3 dB level). Protections against overload, short circuit, or overheating of the electronic circuit, as well as magnetic shielding of the driver, are provided.
The Genelec 7380A subwoofer includes the advanced Smart Active Monitoring (SAM) adaptive monitoring technology with AutoCal calibration technology. The Genelec Loudspeaker Manager 2.0 (GLM) software offers fine individual calibration of up to 30 intelligent monitors and smart subwoofers to facilitate multi-channel setup. The AutoCal technology compensates for the room geometry influence, allowing you to perfectly calibrate the settings for your listening environment.
The subwoofer features balanced XLR inputs and outputs for eight channels of surround sound system. Additionally, it offers separate balanced LFE input and output, the LFE crossover frequency can be set via SAM, there are also digital AES/EBU input and output. DIP switches on the rear panel control the main parameters. There is also a 1/4" TS Jack input for bypass switch.
Since the subwoofer is placed between the surround sound processor and the active satellites (if a separate LFE input/output is not used), it is equipped with necessary balanced transit outputs. The full-range signal passes through without filtration, so the corresponding schemes should be activated in the satellites themselves. This allows for optimal configuration of each channel's characteristics depending on the specific system configuration.
It features an integrated auto-standby mode with ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) switch, allowing the subwoofer to consume less than 0.5 W in standby mode. The Genelec 7380A is an ideal choice for all studios and spaces where both space and performance are equally important.
