The compact Genelec 7370A active subwoofer is designed to complement 7.1 surround audio systems built around Genelec active monitors. Featuring a 10" (250mm) shielded low-frequency driver housed in the patented Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE) cabinet with a phase inverter, the subwoofer utilizes a spiral metal sheet between two MDF panels. The side slot serves as a phase inverter, which, coupled with the cabinet's optimal geometry for sound wave propagation, operates more efficiently than traditional designs. Additionally, this cabinet offers high rigidity and is virtually free from resonances. Powered by a 400W Class D amplifier, the precise matching of the subwoofer and cabinet results in low frequencies starting at 19 Hz (+/- 3 dB). Overload, short circuit, and overheating protections are included, as well as magnetic shielding for the driver.
Features:
- DSP processor
- 7.1 input and output
- Balanced LFE input and output
- Digital XLR input and output
- Smart Active Monitoring (SAM) adaptive monitoring technology
- AutoCal compensates for room geometry effects
- Optional GLM calibration tool
The Genelec 7370A subwoofer incorporates the advanced Smart Active Monitoring (SAM) adaptive monitoring technology with AutoCal calibration. The Genelec Loudspeaker Manager 2.0 (GLM) software allows individual fine-tuning for up to 30 intelligent monitors and smart subwoofers to simplify multi-channel setups. AutoCal technology compensates for room geometry effects, enabling precise calibration for your listening environment. The subwoofer features balanced XLR inputs and outputs for eight surround sound channels, along with dedicated balanced LFE input and output. The LFE crossover frequency can be set using SAM, and there are also AES/EBU digital inputs and outputs. Rear panel DIP switches control key parameters, with a 1/4" TS Jack input for a bypass switch.
As the subwoofer sits between the surround processor and active satellites (if a separate LFE input/output is not used), it includes necessary balanced pass-through outputs. These outputs transmit full-range signals without filtering, requiring corresponding schemes in the satellites themselves. This allows optimal configuration of each channel based on the specific system setup. An integrated standby mode with Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) switch ensures the subwoofer consumes less than 0.5W in standby. The Genelec 7370A is the perfect choice for studios and spaces where both space and performance are equally important.
