The compact active subwoofer Genelec 7040APM is designed for equipping two-channel audio systems based on active monitors 8010 or 8020A. The subwoofer is equipped with a shielded low-frequency driver with a diameter of 6.5” (165 mm), housed in a cabinet of patented Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE) construction with a phase inverter. LSE is a spiral metal sheet placed between two MDF panels. The side slot serves as a phase inverter, which is much more efficient than traditional designs considering the optimal geometry of the cabinet for sound wave propagation. Additionally, this type of cabinet has high rigidity and is practically free from its own resonances. This solution, combined with precise matching of the woofer and cabinet, allows this relatively small device to produce low frequencies starting from 30 Hz (-6 dB). The built-in amplifier of this model has a power of 50 W and includes protection circuits against overload, short circuit, or overheating of the electronic circuit.
Features:
- 2 balanced XLR inputs and outputs
- 6.5” woofer driver
- Phase and cutoff slope switches
- Cabinet based on the patented Laminar Spiral Enclosure technology
- Magnetic shielding
The Genelec 7040APM subwoofer features balanced XLR inputs and outputs for two-channel surround sound systems. Special switches allow control over the input filter cutoff slope and absolute phase shift of the signal. Genelec 7040APM is intended for use with Genelec speakers, with which it will be most optimally matched. Since the subwoofer is connected between the surround sound processor and active satellites, it is equipped with the necessary balanced transit outputs. The signal passed through them is unfiltered (full-range), so the corresponding circuitry should be activated in the satellites themselves. This also allows for optimal adjustment of the characteristics of each channel depending on the configuration of the specific system.
Package includes:
- Subwoofer
- Power cable
- Manual
