The Focusrite Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic microphone preamp is based on the design of the earlier OctoPre MkII Dynamic model. This eight-channel interface is built on the second-generation Scarlett preamps, known for their natural sound. The preamp offers 8 combined microphone/line inputs, each equipped with a VCA preamp and compressor. Two of the inputs can be switched to instrument mode and feature DI digital interfaces for connecting guitars/basses. Additionally, each input provides phantom power of 48V for condenser microphones. Analog-to-digital converters provide conversion of up to 24-bit/192kHz. The Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic allows for controlling the dynamics of all input signals in either "Soft-Knee" classic compression mode or "More" mode with double the compression ratio. The compression level and ratio can be adjusted using the controls, and a wide range of LED indicators on the front panel provide monitoring. The audio interface offers extensive connectivity options, including 8 line outputs for directly outputting signals from the microphone inputs or additional expansions, as well as two optical digital inputs and outputs, and BNC i/o for World Clock synchronization. This allows to meet the needs of even the most demanding performer. The internal generator provides +/- 20 PPM jitter performance, and the standard JetPLL jitter elimination technology is used for external generators.
