The Focusrite Clarett 4Pre Plus external sound card is designed to connect to a computer via a USB port. With 18 inputs, including 4 XLR/TRS connectors on the Clarett microphone preamps, and 8 outputs, it satisfies the needs of even the most demanding performer. The device provides ultra-low latency, which is sufficient for real-time use of DAW plugins.
The new Clarett microphone preamps have very low noise and distortion levels, as well as an "Air" mode that allows for emulating the effect of the signature ISA transformer preamps. Each of the combo inputs provides 48V phantom power for microphones and gain control. The 24-bit high-quality A/D converters allow for clean and clear sound recording with a dynamic range of up to 118 dB (A/D) on the microphone input and 119 dB (D/A) on the line output, respectively.
The audio interface also supports a sampling rate of up to 192 kHz. The Clarett 4Pre Plus inputs and outputs are equipped with built-in protection against voltage spikes. The control elements of the audio interface indicate the level of gain - green signals normal level, while red indicates overload. The free Focusrite iOS Control app allows for remote control of the device using iOS devices. The audio interface is supplied with Focusrite Control, which is designed for easy monitoring and routing configuration. In addition, the package includes the Red 2 and Red 3 AAX, AU, and VST Plug-in Suite, which model the signature equalizer and compressor.
